Cancer

Cancer Season: June 21st – July 22nd

Say yes to opportunities this Cancer season but also respect your own boundaries, body, and mind.

Embracing the confident bravado of a Cancerian to write this right now. I don’t know what I’m doing but I also just had another round of illness during this wintry Cancer season in a southern state of the Southern Hemisphere, so here we go.

I am not a winter babe but my closest Cancerian, Jimmy, loves it! So, I asked them a few questions to help get this started.

Kaitlyn: What is your favourite thing about Cancer Season?
Jimmy: That as a Southern Hemisphere Cancer I get to have the appreciation of being a homebody during winter.

Kaitlyn: What tips do you have for others during this season?
Jimmy: Use this time to connect with one’s self (home) and reflect.

What is your favourite little treat at the moment?
Jimmy: Warm honey cake and tea with lemon.

While a Cancer will almost certainly tell you their thoughts, good or bad, they are also very nurturing and genuinely want to help you succeed. Their kindness may come across a bit harsh at times but they are more sensitive than you realise, there truly is a soft inside to that hard exterior they might show. And although you may occasionally experience a sting from their particular brand of criticism, they will also often comfort and lift you up with their generosity and assurance. Cancer may be a strong-willed water sign that you simultaneously admire and fear - but they remind you to live without so much anticipation of failure and encourage you to carve out the kind of life you wish to be within. Being honest and open with your close Cancer friends can help form a strong reciprocal bond where they will return the favour plus more.

Cleanse yourself with water this season, wash that face and stay hydrated, have a good cry if you need it and remember that you got this, even if it feels hard right now. Look at how far you have come rather than how far away your idea of success might seem. Be like a Cancer and take charge of the narrative you want to live by - take pleasure in the little moments, let yourself live deliciously, it is okay to curate your pleasures and look after yourself. Remember that vulnerability isn’t a bad thing, we all need to shed the solidified outer of our personalities every now and then.

There is warmth to be found, even in winter.
